Interpersonal relationships impact every area of our lives. Our ability to relate influences the paths we take. As we conclude this course and prepare for the Final Assignment, your focus is to pull everything we have discussed together. Just as we cannot isolate one aspect of the Lord from another, we cannot separate one aspect of our relationships from another.
Let’s look back to the course student learning outcomes found in the “Welcome” section:
• Identify how healthy and unhealthy boundaries are influenced by masks, family of origin, and our relationship with the Lord.
• Apply essential skills in meaningful communication.
• Construct methods to implement conflict resolution.
• Analyze the value of deeper connections when considering the role of chemistry and its impact upon mate selection.
• Compare and contrast personal needs, values, and beliefs and how they are impacted by family of origin.
• Integrate a deeper relationship with others by deepening one’s relationship with God.
Write a paper discussing what you have discovered about interpersonal relationships discussing the following:
• Evaluate the steps you took to analyze your relationships and to recognize the impact of your family of origin; include some of your findings. Show your findings of how to differentiate between healthy and unhealthy relationships.
• Discuss practical ways you will use what you learned about communication to impact current and future relationships.
• Describe how your relationship with the Lord impacts all other relationships and the steps you can take to improve upon that relationship.
• Share how you will use your biblical worldview and understanding of God’s commands to treat one another and to grow in your interpersonal relationships.

Your paper must be:
• Six to eight pages in length (not including the cover page and reference page).
• Written in Word using APA format. It should include the following:
o A cover page.
o Assignment written in an APA approved font and size, double spaced.
o In-text citations to support main points.
o A reference page with full APA references for each in-text citation used for support.
o Note: For more specific APA information, please refer to the APA & Turabian Requirements unit located under Help in your course navigation bar.
• Supported by a minimum of five sources, including at least two academic journal articles, as well as your course textbook, class readings, Scripture and other course resources. The CCU library is one place for locating these resources.
• Supported by Scripture.

• Read Exodus 20:5-6

• God is a jealous God; He can visit the iniquity of or show mercy upon our families.

• As we come to this last session of our class, we want to recognize that God is serious about our relationships and about our families. He gives us guidance and direction, and He can bring iniquity or show mercy and blessing. He has called us and designed us for relationship.

• In Romans 12:10 He tells us to, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (NIV)

• Romans 12:16, “Live in harmony with one another.” (NIV)

• Romans 14:13, “Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.” (NIV)

• Romans 15:7, “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” (NIV)

• In this final session, we want to pull everything together and recognize the needs, values, and beliefs we have–look at what has impacted them, and then in turn, how they impact your interpersonal relationships. God is faithful and He will allow you to walk out the fullness of all He has created for you. You need only to call on Him and allow Him to live in and through you.

• Take this week to inventory your relationships, your responses, your needs, and your desires. Note any areas where you recognize a need for change, and take time to seek the Lord and ask Him for ways you can grow. Remember in all we do, we want to increase our faith and our ability to walk with moral excellence. God wants us to be doers of the Word and not just hearers; so take what you are learning, and ask Him how to practically walk that out in your life each day
