Benjamin Franklin and J Hector
This week you have read works written by two different people. For this discussion post you will be taking a look at the meanings of both the authors.
1. What themes did Benjamin Franklin display in his writing and why is that important?
2. What themes did J Hector display in his writing and why is that important?
3. How did either or both of the authors real life situation affect the ideas presented in their work?

Discussion Posts:
Every week there will be one or two discussion posts that each student will be required
to participate in. There will be a topic or questions being posed about the reading for
the week or the topic being discussed. The rules for this are quite simple:
● Each post needs to be at least three full paragraphs.
● Evidence from the texts or texts needs to be provided. If there is no evidence to back
up your claim, then it will not be considered valid.
● Each student is required to respond to two of their peers for each discussion post.
This is part of the grade given for this section of the grading policy.
● When responding, the response needs to be AT LEAST one paragraph each. It should
be more than “I agree with what you have to say” or “ I like what you had to say”.
● You should provide specific evidence from the peers’ posts to back what you have
pointed out in their posts.
